Communication is an infinite game
The difference between the so-called "Finite and Infinite Games" is that finite games have boundaries, ceilings, losers, and winners. They aim to win on one side, such as: playing cards, playing chess, and waging war. The infinite game has no boundary, no ceiling, no opposition, and aims at sustainability, such as culture, religion, and life itself.
Many people see the strong and active party and the weak and passive party in communication and believe that communication is a finite game for one party to "get" the other party. No, communication is an infinite game. Specific communication matters may end, but communication experts can make the relationship between the two sides continue to develop.
Allow me to emphasize again that communication is an infinite game. This is a very useful rule, but unfortunately, most people don't know it or don't believe it. And I suggest you choose the letter first and then follow this rule to communicate. You will find that heaven and earth broaden themselves.
If I'm a salesperson today, selling products to a customer, and the customer turns me down ruthlessly and irreparably. This is obviously a failed promotion. But referring to the view that "communication is an infinite game" if I can say after being rejected: "OK, you don't need it, I won't bother you anymore. But I'm sorry, I want to take up one minute of your time and ask you a sincere question. Why are you dissatisfied with our products and services? You put forward requirements for me and I'll improve myself in the future." Well, I still completed a successful communication with the customer. This time, our relationship has changed from "salesperson and customer" to "consultant and helper". Although my promotion ended, our new interactive relationship was established.
You see, communication is not using beautiful words, but building trust.
